Created by violin-maker Bridge and royal jewellery designer Theo Fennell, the 24-carat gold-plated violins are encrusted with diamonds and rubies – and insured for millions of pounds.
Made from carbon and kevlar, the violins had to be extremely light to offset the weight of the gold plating. They also feature diamond and ruby-encrusted skulls as a nod to the group’s rock roots.
Linzi said: “Ben and I fly all over the world to play live rock violin and in every destination we put on a spectacular show. The thrill of playing with these new gold violins is something I can’t describe.”
The duo will be releasing their new single, Step Up Beethoven, before Christmas, and following it up with a US tour.
