For a limited time, when buy the NaimUniti 2 network music system with a pair of Focal’s new Aria 900 speakers, thanks to a joint promotion from the two companies, this is the first joint promotion offered by the two. It combines the latest version of Naim’s original all-in-one network music system with the latest speakers from Focal, and comprises two system packages. Choose the NaimUniti 2 with the Focal Aria 906 standmount speakers, and the price is £2995, representing a saving of £698, while the NaimUniti 2 with the Focal Aria 926 floorstanding speakers, to be reviewed in a future issue of Gramophone, is £3995, saving £798. The NaimUniti 2 combines a CD player, amplifier, DAB/FM/internet radio tuner and high resolution digital stream player, able to play music from network streams, iOS smartphones, players and tablets, and USB storage devices. It has a total of five analogue and five digital inputs, 70Wpc amplification, both wired and wireless network connectivity and the ability to be controlled by the remote handset supplied, or Naim’s free iOS app, n-Stream. The Focal Aria 926 speakers use the company’s new Flax drivers, designed to give much of the performance of Focal’s glass-sandwich ‘W’ drive units at a more affordable price. Like all of Focal’s hi-fi speakers, and the majority of its products, the Aria 900 models are handmade in the company’s own factory in Saint-Etienne, France
