Founded in 2000, L’Arpeggiata is a European early music vocal and instrumental ensemble led by Christina Pluhar, who’s also the musical director and conductor. The group has presented both traditional early music and several collaged and themed performances and recordings. This album features the fabulous voices of Mísia, Nuria Rial, Vincenzo Capezzuto, Raquel Andueza and Aikaterini Papadopoulou who perform traditional tarantellas. On this recording that have instruments as diverse as the baroque theorbo (played by Pluhar herself), the harpsichord and psaltery. Along the music journey, you will cruise from Portugal to Turkey, following the coasts of Spain, Catalonia, Greece, and Italy…
