The Bartered Bride is a three acts comic opera by the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana. The opera is considered to have made a major contribution towards the development of Czech music. For nearly 150 years this  Smetana’s three acts has triumphed in opera houses all over the world. This recording features an all-Czech cast , and conjures a warm sound from much of the  folk-like music of The Bartered Bride. It’s rarely in the hands a true team of  experts.
