From the Barbican in London to a bar in her hometown of Kansas City, Joyce DiDonato’s mission is to bring bel canto to the people. And she’s doing just that with her album launch for the classical chart-topping Stella di Napoli (Star of Naples) on Friday 3 October in what is far from a traditional venue for opera: the arty Brooklyn converted warehouse Gowanus Ballroom, above a metal works factory.
