Tchaikovsky’s  The Sleeping Beauty is the most famous ballet original written as a literary tale of the classical repertoire.  Chandos set this two-disc marks the beginning of an exciting sacd project devoted to Tchaikovsky’s ballet scores. This recording is very good performed by the Bergen Philharmonic and Neeme Jarvi with Canadian violinist James Ehnes. Chandos has provided a striking SACD multi-channel setting, bringing out Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty to quite an experience.
