Soprano Anna Netrebko has carved out a stellar career both in the opera house and in the recording studio. Described as “the reigning new diva of the early 21st century”, she has made a huge variety of major roles her own – from Mimi in Puccini’s La Bohème and Violetta in Verdi’s Verdi’s La traviatato slightly less well-known parts such as the title role in Tchaikovsky’sIolanta and Natasha in Prokofiev’s War and Peace.

In celebration of the anniversary of Verdi’s birth that falls this year, Anna Netrebko has a new disc of Verdi arias (released on 12th August) – which is also available in a deluxe version with a bonus DVD featuring performances by Netrebko of other operatic jewels.
