The Classic BRIT Award for International Artist of the Year will go to Chinese pianist Lang Lang. The special award is to in recognition of his global success as a recording artist and performer, as well as his work in popularising the piano among young players in China and beyond. In addition to the previously announced live performances on the night, Classic BRITs audiences will be treated to two appearances from Alfie Boe and Samantha Barks. The pair previously performed at the ceremony in 2011 as part of the cast of Les Misérables (Barks went on to star in the 2012 movie adaptation alongside Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe). Performances on the night will come from Lang Lang (who will duet with violinist Nicola Benedetti), Ludovico Einaudi, Gareth Malone and his Voices choir, Amy Dickson, Joseph Calleja and Hans Zimmer, who has already been announced as the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to Music award.
