Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela have achieved double platinum sales in their home country for Fiesta, as well as gold for their recording of Beethoven’s Symphonies 5 and 7. The special discs will be presented to Gustavo Dudamel in Bogotá, Colombia, where he is about to conduct Wagner’s Tannhäuser for the first time, giving three performances at the city’s Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán (13, 16 and 18 July).

Gustavo Dudamel’s next Deutsche Grammophon release will be his debut recording with the legendary Berlin Philharmonic and will feature a superb selection of works by Richard Strauss: Also sprach Zarathustra, Don Juanand Till Eulenspiegel.
