Aaccording to new radio listening figures, the UK’s biggest classical musicstation has increased its audience to over 5.6 million people each week. Thousands more listeners are starting their day with Classic FM’sMore Music Breakfast – during the week, an extra 197,000 people have discovered Tim Lihoreau’s programme in the last three months. Breakfast at the weekend, meanwhile, has seen Anne–Marie Minhall attract her largest audience to date, with a yearly increase of 101,000 people on Sundays alone. The number of people tuning in for our flagship weekday mid-morning show, presented by John Suchet , has grown to over 2.8 million, whilst Jamie Crick’s mix of requests , dedications and afternoon favourites has seen his audience surge to 2.6 million people each week. At the weekend, Alan Titchmarsh and Aled Jones now both reach well over a million listeners every week. Other programmes enjoying a significant increase include Saturday Night at the Movies withHoward Goodall, which has grown its audience by 17% in the last three months, and Charlotte Green’s Culture Club, which is up 16%. In addition, Classic FM’s major new series Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Classical Music, presented by Catherine Bott, is already attracting a large audience, with a year-on-year increase of 29%.
