Li Yundi (born October 7, 1982) is a Chinese classical pianist, he is also popularly known as Yundi. He is most well known for being the youngest pianist at the age 18 to win the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition in 2000. The album makes his return to DG conquering new grounds with his first ever Beethoven recording. The whole CD is like a breath of fresh air. It is easy to feel how much thoughts he had put into constructing and re-constructing the music to achieve the balance between musical integrity and his own expressive weight. He has already demonstrated that he is one of the best pianists we have right now, and this album would make us to expect even greater achievement in his future, for that who is born to play piano!
